Stuck In Free Fall – the book!

At one of my performances in Berlin last December my friend Henrique said I should connect with Hopscotch Reading Room about printing more copies of the book. While last summer I had used Blurb to print the original copy, I wanted to make any additional copies in a more DIY-style and with a local business I believe in.

On a cold day in February I visited Hopscotch and met Erin, the person behind their RISO printer and curator of many artist's (and other) books. Erin and I traded ideas and excitements about the possibility of giving Stuck In Free Fall a form aligned with its intentional poetry and design, including elements like keeping each page separate and unbound from the others so that the book can be laid out and seen all-together, to (hopefully!) hand-painting the color pages. While I don't want to give *too* much away, suffice to say that we're really going for the "artist" side of the artist's book. And I'm very excited to bring it into the world this July!

There are some things I don't know yet: the exact price of the book, if I will use an online platform to promote and sell it, or exactly when you will have a copy if you put your name on the waiting list right now. But if you would be interested in possibly purchasing a book that probably costs somewhere between 30-50€, write me to let me know; it would also be helpful to hear how much you would be able to pay so that I can price the book at the right amount. This is not a binding purchase, it just helps me have a sense of how many to print and a sense of whether the price is in the right ballpark. Thanks!

I'm super proud of this book and curious about where it will go in the world. I'm usually a live performer, so the idea that something I make will go into people's living rooms and backpacks to hang out and sometimes come alive without me is pretty cool!
